The settlers take to the sea!

With this expansion, your settlers leave their home island and set sail to explore and colonize new shores. Together with the base game, the expansion can be played by 3 or 4 players aged 10 and above. Playing time increases to approximately 75 to 90 minutes.

As the years pass, the island of Catan becomes increasingly populated. Its adventure-seeking inhabitants venture onto the open sea in search of new destinations. Using wood and wool, they build sturdy seafaring ships and travel along coastlines and across open waters, always moving along the borders between two hexes. Along the way, they discover gold, a valuable new resource ideal for profitable trading.

New and exciting adventures lead you to unknown coasts, smaller island groups, and even as far as Oceania and the New World. Along the journey, you will encounter impassable deserts, a menacing black pirate ship, and the ever-present robber.

The modular frame system allows you to expand Catan or create multiple smaller islands. The included rulebook features eleven different scenarios that provide countless enjoyable game nights, while creative players can also invent their own custom scenarios.
